Professor Hendrik Vos und Sven Speybrouck gehen vielleicht zu einem der symbolischsten Orte für den Gedanken der Nie-wieder-Krieg, dem Militärfriedhof von Verdun. Wo 1916 zwischen deutschen und französischen Soldaten im Ersten Weltkrieg gekämpft wurde. Es fielen viele zehntausend Tote, sowohl auf französischer als auch auf deutscher Seite. Es war ein völlig sinnloses und absurder Blutvergießen. Fast 40 Jahre zuvor standen auch der Franzose François Mitterrand und der Deutsche Helmut Kohl an diesem Ort. Sogar während der 'Marseillaise' Hand in Hand. Unbeweglich. Zwischen den Herren wuchs eine tiefe Freundschaft. "Es war sehr selten in der internationalen Politik, aber sie mochten sich."
