Die Grotte von Niaux befindet sich bei Tarascon-sur-Ariège. Die Grotte von Niaux ist berühmt, weil sie einen großen runden Raum, den Salon Noir, enthält, in dem prähistorische Menschen Wandmalereien angebracht haben. Dort findest du erstaunlich gut gemalte Bilder von unter anderem Pferden, Steinböcken, Rehen und Bisons. Darüber hinaus gibt es in der Grotte von Niaux Abdrücke von Kinderfüßen. Dieser Teil der Grotte ist sehr empfindlich und daher nicht für die Öffentlichkeit zugänglich.
