Tauves ist eine französische Gemeinde mit 766 Einwohnern in der Region Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes im Département Puy-de-Dôme. Sie gehört zum Kanton Le Sancy im Arrondissement Issoire. Die Einwohner werden Laquais oder Tauvois genannt.Tauves liegt etwa 42 Kilometer südwestlich von Clermont-Ferrand. An der südlichen Gemeindegrenze verläuft der Fluss Burande. Umgeben wird Tauves von den Nachbargemeinden Avèze im Norden, Saint-Sauves-d’Auvergne im Nordosten, La Tour-d’Auvergne im Osten und Südosten, Bagnols im Süden, Larodde im Südwesten sowie Singles im Westen.
