Amiens [aˈmjɛ̃] ist die Hauptstadt des französischen Départements Somme in der Region Hauts-de-France und hat 134.706 Einwohner . Diese werden Amiénois genannt. Amiens war auch die Hauptstadt der ehemaligen Region Picardie. Sie ist ein bedeutender Verkehrsknotenpunkt Nordfrankreichs sowie Sitz eines Bischofs und einer 1969 gegründeten Universität. Die Kathedrale der schon seit vorrömischer Zeit bestehenden Stadt ist das größte Sakralgebäude Frankreichs.
