Während des Großen Krieges wurden die Soldaten in den kleinsten Winkeln in der Nähe der Kampfzonen begraben.
Ein erster Friedhof wurde am Ende der Straße von Fontenoy an der Einmündung des Kanals von Chapeaumont angelegt.
Im November 1921 wurden die Leichen dann auf Vorschlag der Militärbehörde auf den Friedhof von Vic- sur-Aisne verlegt.
Die 9.385 m² große Nekropole am Ortsausgang enthält 3.046 Leichen, von denen 932 in Ossuarien liegen, sowie vier Gräber aus dem Zweiten Weltkrieg.
Sie können auch vor einem muslimischen Grab beten, in dem Ma Yi Pao begraben wurde, der sich in der Fremdenlegion engagierte und der einzige Chinese war, der für Frankreich starb.
