La Rodia befindet sich in der Nähe des Stadtzentrums von Besançon und hat sich als kulturelles Zentrum für aktuelle Musik etabliert. Mit einem anspruchsvollen und eklektischen Programm veranstaltet sie etwa 70 Abende pro Jahr und zieht 38.000 Zuschauer an.
La Rodia trägt das Label "scène de musiques actuelles" (Bühne für aktuelle Musik) des französischen Kulturministeriums und unterstützt lokale und internationale Künstler, fördert das kreative Schaffen (Studios, künstlerische Begleitung) und entwickelt kulturelle Aktionen für verschiedene Zielgruppen.
Sie bietet auch einen echten Lebensraum: Kartenverkauf, Bar, Verpflegung vor Ort, Vermittlungsraum und barrierefreie Anlaufstelle.
