La Rodia ligt dicht bij het centrum van Besançon en heeft zich gevestigd als een cultureel centrum voor hedendaagse muziek. Met een veeleisend en eclectisch programma worden er ongeveer 70 avonden per jaar georganiseerd en trekt het 38.000 toeschouwers.
La Rodia heeft het label "scène de musiques actuelles" gekregen van het Franse Ministerie van Cultuur en ondersteunt lokale en internationale artiesten, moedigt creatief werk aan (studio's, artistieke ondersteuning) en ontwikkelt culturele activiteiten voor een breed publiek.
Het biedt ook een echte plek om te leven: kassa, bar, catering ter plaatse, bemiddelingsruimte en een toegankelijk onthaalpunt.
