Die romanische Kirche Sainte-Croix befindet sich in der kleinen Gemeinde Veauce in der französischen Region Auvergne , am Flüsschen Veauce, das bei Ebreuil in die Sioule mündet, etwa 45 Kilometer nördlich von Clermont-Ferrand. Ihr harmonisch gestaltetes Chorhaupt erhebt sich vor der Kulisse des mit alten Bäumen bestandenen dicht belaubten Schlosspark, dem ehemaligen Sitz der Landesherren von Veauce, einer sehr alten Familie, deren Nachkommen es bis vor einigen Jahren noch bewohnten.
