Ende des 19. Jahrhunderts gab es in der Region etwa 230 solcher Schafställe. Heute ist nur noch die von Goualade erhalten, die am bemerkenswertesten ist. Sie weist eine aus Alios- und Kalksteinbruchsteinen gemauerte Einfriedung mit einem Durchmesser von über 20 Metern auf. Dieser Gebäudetyp bot den Schafherden nachts Schutz vor dem Wetter und vor Wölfen, ermöglichte aber auch die Ernte von Dung, der für den Anbau auf einigen Hektar karger Böden in der Nähe der Pachthöfe unerlässlich war. Der Schafstall ist im Zusatzinventar der Historischen Monumente aufgeführt.
