1926 als historisch bedeutsames Denkmal eingestuft, befindet sich dieser prähistorische, magdalenische Unterschlupf auf der rechten Uferseite der Beune nur wenige Kilometer von Les Eyzies entfernt.
Die bemerkenswerten Skulpturen von verschiedenen Tieren erstrecken sich über 13 bis 15 Meter auf der Felswand. Pferde, Bisons und Rotwild, teilweise überlappend, waren auf der Wand wahrscheinlich ursprünglich ockerfarben bemalt.
Die mit spitzen Feuersteinen bearbeiteten Reliefs im Abri Cap Blanc zählen in Kraft und Tiefe zu den größten Meisterwerken der Skulptur-Kunst während der Altsteinzeit von 35.000 bis 10.000 v. Chr.
Eine erklärende Ausstellung vervollständigt das monumentale Gesamtbild.
