Der Friedhof befindet sich östlich des Dorfes Romagne-sous-Montfaucon, 40 Kilometer nordwestlich von Verdun. hier sind 14246 Amerikaner begraben, was ihn zum größten amerikanischen Friedhof in Europa macht. Die Namen von 954 Vermissten sind auf den Wänden der Loggien, die die Kapelle umgeben, eingraviert.
Seine Organisation und Architektur machen ihn zu einem unverzichtbaren Ort, wenn man erfassen will, was die Amerikaner unter der Pflicht zur Erinnerung verstehen.
Seit 2016 können die Besucher in einem Interpretationszentrum den Weg der amerikanischen Soldaten und die Geschichte des amerikanischen Gedenkens nachvollziehen.
Sein Besucherzentrum ist täglich von 9:00 bis 16:45 Uhr geöffnet. Die Kapelle ist täglich von 9:00 bis 16:15 Uhr geöffnet. Auf Anfrage werden Führungen und pädagogische Workshops veranstaltet.
