Das Hôtel de Burtaigne wurde Anfang des 16. Jahrhunderts von der Familie de Gournay erbaut. Der mittelalterliche Einfluss ist noch in dem niedrigen, von der Fassade abgesetzten Dach in Form einer Diamantspitze und den kleinen Fenstern in der Attika, dem obersten Stockwerk, zu erkennen. Dennoch entfernt sich seine Architektur vom italienischen Modell und entspricht eher der der französischen Renaissance.
