L’hôtel de Burtaigne est édifié par la famille de Gournay au début du XVIème siècle. L’influence médiévale est encore visible dans la toiture basse en pointe de diamant, en retrait de la façade, et les petites fenêtres à l’attique, l’étage du sommet. Néanmoins, son architecture s’éloigne du modèle italien et correspond davantage à celle de la Renaissance française.
