Diese Straßenbrücke wurde von Gustave Eiffel zwischen 1879 und 1883 auf den Grundmauern einer ersten Hängebrücke (1839-1869) errichtet, die von einem Sturm weggespült worden war. Sie wurde während des Zweiten Weltkriegs zerstört und von seinem Enkel wieder aufgebaut. Die Zugangsrampe wird von Steinarkaden getragen, die von unten betrachtet wie eine gotische Kathedrale wirken.
