Der Plage du Port Vieux ist ein kleiner Strand am Ende einer felsigen Bucht in der Nähe des Stadtzentrums. Er ist wind- und wellengeschützt, wird das ganze Jahr über von Stammgästen besucht und ist bei Familien mit kleinen Kindern sehr beliebt.
Aus hygienischen und gesundheitlichen Gründen sind Hunde an allen Stränden von Biarritz das ganze Jahr über nicht erlaubt. Blinden Personen, die von einem Blindenhund begleitet werden, wird jedoch eine Ausnahmegenehmigung erteilt, wenn sie dem Verantwortlichen des Rettungsdienstes ihren Behindertenausweis vorlegen.
Der Strand von Port-Vieux ist als "tabakfreier Strand" ausgezeichnet.
