Der Mittelalterliche Garten ist ein echtes kleines Freilichtmuseum und zeigt eine große Auswahl an Pflanzen aus dem Mittelalter: Textilien (Leinen und Hanf), Färbemittel (Pastell, Färberwaid, Krapp, Indigo?), Heilpflanzen - die zahlreichsten - und sogenannte "Hexenpflanzen", denen magische Kräfte zugeschrieben wurden!
Der Gemüsegarten bietet eine Auswahl an Pflanzen, die für die Zubereitung der Mahlzeiten der damaligen Zeit angebaut wurden: hauptsächlich Suppen für die einfachen Leute, feines Gemüse und aromatische oder würzende Pflanzen zum Anrichten von Fleisch, die vor allem den Bürgern vorbehalten waren.
Zu jeder Pflanze gibt es Informationen über ihren Ursprung und ihre Verwendung im Mittelalter.
