Description

Das Schloss Assier ist ein beispielhaftes Zeugnis für die Verbreitung der Renaissancekunst außerhalb des Loiretals.
Es wurde zwischen 1518 und 1535 im Stil der neuen Lustschlösser erbaut und ist das Werk eines sehr reichen Edelmanns, Galiot de Genouillac, Grand Ecuyer de France, Grand Maître d'Artillerie von François 1er.
Es bestand aus einem großen viereckigen Grundriss, von dem noch der Eingangsflügel erhalten ist, der von einem spektakulären Portal mit Säulengängen, Loggien und Giebeln durchbrochen wird. Die Fassade zum Hof ist mit Fensteröffnungen und zwei breiten Friesen geschmückt, die reich mit Emblemen verziert sind, die auf die militärischen Aufgaben von Galiot de Genouillac und die Herkuleslegende verweisen.
