In den Jahren 1920-1930 erforderte die Ausdehnung der Abbaufelder die Errichtung eines neuen Wetterschachts. In den 1950er Jahren wurde der Schacht von 350 auf 450 m Tiefe abgeteuft. Später, 1978-1979, wurde der Schacht Simon 3 bis auf 843 m vertieft. Im Jahr 2001 wurde das Rezept abgerissen und der Schacht geschlossen.
