Jahrhundert von Stanislas gegründet. Das heutige Gebäude wurde zwischen 1770 und 1778 errichtet. Die wunderschönen Holztäfelungen aus dem 18. Jahrhundert im Lesesaal stammen aus der ehemaligen Jesuitenuniversität in Pont-à-Mousson
Die Bibliothèque Stanislas gehört neben der Médiathèque Manufacture, der Médiathèque Haut-du-Lièvre und der Mairie-Médiathèque saint-Pierre zum Netzwerk der Bibliotheken von Nancy. Eine ihrer Hauptaufgaben ist das Sammeln, Aufwerten und Bewahren von lothringischen Dokumenten.
