Das Museum bietet die Möglichkeit, anhand von Funden, die in der Gemeinde gesammelt wurden, unsere weit zurückliegenden Vorfahren zu entdecken.
Die Einrichtung dieses kleinen Museums, das von Archäologiebegeisterten auf Initiative des archäologiebegeisterten Lehrers Michel Gallemard ins Leben gerufen wurde, konnte dank der von der Gemeinde Clugnat vorgenommenen Umgestaltung des ehemaligen Pfarrhauses aus dem 18. Mehr als 300 Werkzeuge aus Feuerstein sind hier ausgestellt.
Man kann hier Gegenstände entdecken, die von einer lokalen Besiedlung zeugen, die auf das mittlere Paläolithikum (-300.000 Jahre v. Chr.) zurückgeht. Die interessantesten Stücke sind Schaber, Kratzer, Dolche, Pfeilspitzen, polierte Äxte, Meißel, Schlagwerkzeuge usw... Auch gallo-römische Überreste sind hier ausgestellt.
