Il museo offre ai visitatori la possibilità di scoprire i nostri lontani antenati attraverso i resti raccolti nel comune.
Avviata da Michel Gallemard, insegnante appassionato di archeologia, la creazione di questo piccolo museo è stata possibile grazie ai lavori effettuati dal Comune di Clugnat nell'ex presbiterio del XVIII secolo. Sono esposti più di 300 utensili in selce.
Gli oggetti esposti testimoniano un insediamento locale risalente al Paleolitico medio (300.000 a.C.). I pezzi più interessanti sono raschiatoi, scrostatori, pugnali, punte di freccia, asce levigate, scalpelli, striker, ecc... Sono esposti anche resti gallo-romani.
