Die Entstehung der Kapelle, ein gotisches Juwel aus dem 13. Jahrhundert, um das sich eine Legende rankt, ist noch immer rätselhaft... Ein Rätsel, das viele Historiker und Wissenschaftler zu lösen versucht haben. Das Gebäude hat sich im Laufe der Zeit oft verändert. Seit 2007 gehört die Kapelle, die sich auf dem Pilgerweg nach Santiago de Compostela befindet, zum UNESCO-Weltkulturerbe.
Besucher werden von den vor Ort lebenden Nonnen empfangen.
