Das Gebiet des Regionalen Naturparks (PNR) zählt Tausende von Quellen und Flüssen (Vézère, Creuse, Corrèze, Vienne...) und beherbergt bemerkenswerte natürliche Lebensräume, in denen sich Torfmoore, Heidegebiete, Wälder und Wiesen abwechseln. Davon zeugt das Torfmoor von Longeyroux, ein außergewöhnliches Reservoir an Biodiversität.
Der PNR beherbergt empfindliche und einzigartige Tier- und Pflanzenarten: Fischotter, Flussperlmuschel, Bläuling, Bluthänfling, Schlangenadler, Waldeidechse...
Es ist auch ein Etappenland für Zugvögel. Hier leben 12 Vogelarten, darunter der Neuntöter, die Sturmschwalbe, die Heidelerche und der Kranich
Die Flora ist sehr vielfältig: Heidekraut, Torfmoos und Sonnentau sind nur einige Beispiele. Die dichten Laub- und Nadelwälder bilden eine heterogene Landschaft. Eine unumgängliche und erstaunliche Entdeckung.
