Die guten Brunnen sind ein symbolträchtiges Erbe des Limousin und der Creuse. Sie sind Orte der Anbetung und Verehrung, da ihrem Wasser verschiedene heilende Eigenschaften nachgesagt werden. Angesichts ihres großen Erfolgs hatte die Kirche ab dem Mittelalter keine andere Wahl, als sie zu christianisieren. Manchmal wurden sie mit einem Kreuz oder einer Kapelle versehen, vor allem aber wurden sie nach einem Heiligen benannt. In Bussière-Nouvelle wurde am Tag der Geburt des Heiligen Johannes (dem Patronatsfest der ehemaligen Pfarrei Blavepeyre) eine Prozession zum Brunnen Saint-Jean-Baptiste in Blavepeyre veranstaltet, um für den Schutz des Dorfes zu beten.
