Patrimonio emblemático de las regiones de Lemosín y Creuse, las buenas fuentes son lugares de culto y veneración, ya que a sus aguas se les atribuyen diversas virtudes curativas. A partir de la Edad Media, dado su éxito, la Iglesia no tuvo más remedio que cristianizarlas, a veces asociándolas a una cruz o a una capilla, pero sobre todo dándoles el nombre de un santo. En Bussière-Nouvelle, el día de la Natividad de Saint-Jean (patrón de la antigua parroquia de Blavepeyre), una procesión se dirigía a la fuente Saint-Jean-Baptiste de Blavepeyre para ofrecer oraciones por la protección del pueblo.
