Die mobile Brunnenstatue, die vor dem ehemaligen Justizpalast, dem heutigen Rathaus, aufgestellt wurde, ist ein Gemeinschaftswerk von Jean Tinguely und Nikki de Saint-Phalle. Die von François Mitterrand in Château-Chinon gestiftete Statue ist bemerkenswert, zum einen, weil es nur wenige davon gibt, fünf weltweit, zwei davon in Frankreich, und zum anderen, weil sie durch ihre Bewegung und ihre für Nikki sehr charakteristischen, lebhaften, strahlenden, fast blendenden Farben gefällt. Es ist fröhlich, erstaunlich, verführerisch. Es ist ein Augenzwinkern, das einem die Stadt entgegenbringt.
