Installata davanti all'ex tribunale, oggi sede del municipio, la statua mobile della fontana è opera di Jean Tinguely e Nikki de Saint-Phalle. Regalato a Château-Chinon da François Mitterrand, è notevole innanzitutto perché ne esistono solo cinque al mondo, di cui due in Francia, e in secondo luogo perché piace per il suo movimento e i suoi colori, molto caratteristici di Nikki: luminosi, vividi, quasi abbaglianti. È allegro, sorprendente, seducente. È un ammiccamento alla città.
