Waschhaus von Liret - Stein.
Dieses Waschhaus wurde außerhalb des Dorfes unter freiem Himmel auf einem viereckigen Grundriss errichtet. Er hat keinen gepflasterten Gehweg, ist aber an einer Seite mit einer zum Wasser hin geneigten Fläche versehen, die den Waschfrauen die Arbeit erleichtert. Diese einfache Bauweise war in vielen Gemeinden anzutreffen, doch die wohlhabenderen Gemeinden bauten überdachte Waschhäuser, die den Waschfrauen Schutz vor Wind und Wetter boten. Da Waschmittel die öffentlichen Gewässer verschmutzen, werden Waschhäuser häufig am Stadtrand errichtet.
