Der Aussichtspunkt von Marèges bietet einen Panoramablick auf die Monts d'Auvergne, die Schluchten der Haute-Dordogne sowie den Staudamm und die Wasserkraftwerke der SH. Der Staudamm von Marèges diente als Vorbild für mehr als 90 Staudämme weltweit. Er ist der erste doppelt gekrümmte Staudamm in Frankreich.
Der idyllische Pfad, der zum Aussichtspunkt führt, beginnt auf dem Plateau de la Mole . Er führt durch ein Unterholz, in dem Sie die Ballonaufhängungen der Luftabwehr entdecken können, die von den deutschen Truppen während des Zweiten Weltkriegs aufgestellt wurden.
Der Weg mündet dann auf einer Plattform, die von der SHEM (Société Hydro-Electrique du Midi) angelegt wurde. Eine Orientierungstafel ermöglicht es Ihnen, die wichtigsten Gipfel, die von diesem Aussichtspunkt aus zu sehen sind, zu erkennen. Das Gebiet liegt im Natura-2000-Gebiet und beherbergt eine große Vielfalt an Vögeln, darunter geschützte Arten wie den Rotmilan.
