Der Waldsee liegt am Rande des Staatswaldes von Châtellerault und bietet einen angenehmen Platz für Spaziergänger. Im Sommer ist das Baden erlaubt und sein Strand ist dann beliebt. Es werden Wege angelegt und Infrastrukturen für Picknicks errichtet. Mit einer Fläche von 532 Hektar bietet der Wald ein Naturerbe, das zu Spaziergängen und Sport einlädt, mit mehreren markierten Gesundheitswegen im Wald (4, 6 und 12 km), einer Boulebahn, Kinderspielen, aber auch einem Arboretum mit 62 verschiedenen Baumarten auf einem 1500 Meter langen Pfad.
