Das Schloss La Villette wurde in der zweiten Hälfte des 16. Jahrhunderts nach den Schäden, die die Armee von Karl V. 1552 angerichtet hatte, wieder aufgebaut. 1651 hielt sich Kardinal Mazarin während der Fronde hier auf. Nachdem das Schloss zunächst dem Herzogtum Rethel und dann Marguerite de Belaux gehört hatte, ging es 1767 in den Besitz von Jean-Franis Maucomble, Berater und Sekretär des Königs und Herr von Glaire, über.Das am Ufer der Maas gelegene Renaissance-Schloss wurde im Laufe der Zeit in ein Lustschloss mit französischen Gärten umgewandelt.Das Schloss Villette und seine Gärten sind im Zusatzinventar der historischen Monumente eingetragen.
