Die Jesuiten lassen sich zunächst in den Gebäuden des ehemaligen Collège du Quercy (16. Jh.) nieder. Sie veränderten die ehemalige Kapelle Saint-Michel-des-Pauvres, die sie nun Ignatius von Loyola, dem Gründer des Ordens, widmeten, und beauftragten zwei Jesuiten mit der Herstellung des gemalten Dekors: François Blanc und Jean Planchette.
Die Jesuiten ließen zwei imposante Gebäudekörper errichten, an deren Verbindungsstelle eine große Treppe mit geraden Läufen entstand. In der Mitte des Gebäudes befindet sich der Salle de Déclamation mit einer bemerkenswerten französischen Decke.
Im Jahr 1676 wurde der Architekt Antoine Chassagnard mit dem Bau des Glockenturms im Stil von Toulouse beauftragt, der das Kollegium überragt.
