Dieses Naturschutzgebiet liegt auf dem großen Vogesenkamm zwischen den Pässen Col du Calvaire und Col de la Schlucht und schützt auf einer Fläche von 505 ha bemerkenswerte Hochmoore und Torfmoore sowie ihre Bergwälder. Es beherbergt eine bemerkenswerte, aber auch empfindliche und gefährdete Fauna und Flora. Daher werden die Auswirkungen des menschlichen Besuchs besonders aufmerksam verfolgt. Ein Entdeckungspfad ermöglicht es, die verschiedenen Facetten des Naturschutzgebiets zu erkunden. Jeden Sommer empfängt ein Betreuer des Conservatoire d'espaces naturels de Lorraine die Öffentlichkeit auf dem Gelände des Naturreservats.
