Situata sulla grande dorsale dei Vosgi, tra i passi del Calvaire e dello Schlucht, questa Riserva Naturale protegge 505 ettari di notevoli torbiere alte e torbiere, nonché il loro ambiente forestale montano. Ospita una fauna e una flora notevoli, ma sensibili e minacciate. L'impatto dell'uso umano è quindi monitorato con particolare attenzione. Un percorso di scoperta permette di scoprire le diverse sfaccettature della Riserva Naturale. Ogni estate, inoltre, una guida del Conservatoire d'espaces naturels de Lorraine accoglie il pubblico nella riserva naturale.
