Gelegen op de grote heuvelrug van de Vogezen, tussen de Calvaire- en de Schluchtpas, beschermt dit natuurreservaat 505 hectare opmerkelijke hoogveen- en veengebieden en hun bergbossen. Het is het thuis van een opmerkelijke maar gevoelige en bedreigde fauna en flora. Het effect van het menselijk gebruik wordt daarom bijzonder nauwlettend gevolgd. Via een ontdekkingspad kunt u de verschillende facetten van het natuurreservaat ontdekken. Elke zomer ontvangt ook een gids van het Conservatoire d'espaces naturels de Lorraine het publiek in het natuurreservaat.
