Die Kapelle von Brax wurde im 13. Jahrhundert errichtet, ohne dass ihr Besitzer mit Sicherheit identifiziert werden konnte. Pfarrkirche oder Kapelle? Bis heute schweigen die Quellen zu diesem Thema.
Die Angabe "paroisse de Brax" oder "Brachs" taucht 1307 auf. Bis zum Ende des Jahrhunderts unterstand sie dem Erzpriestertum von Cernès und zahlte den Zehnten an das Kollegium Saint-André in Bordeaux.
Im 15. Jahrhundert wird sie in keinem alten Text oder Rechnungsbuch mehr erwähnt. In den Archiven der Diözese Bordeaux wird jedoch eine "Kapelle von Lerre" in Landiras erwähnt. Handelt es sich dabei um Brax?
Von Anfang des 17. Jahrhunderts bis 1763 unterstand sie dem Priorat von Bardenac und der Gesellschaft Jesu, die Umbauarbeiten durchführte. Während der Französischen Revolution wurde es von Joachim de Chalup gekauft, der es in einen Bauernhof umwandelte, und dann endgültig aufgegeben.
