La cappella di Brax fu costruita nel XIII secolo, anche se non è possibile identificare con certezza il suo proprietario. Chiesa parrocchiale o cappella? A tutt'oggi, le fonti tacciono su questo argomento.
L'indicazione "parrocchia di Brax" o "Brachs" compare nel 1307. Fino alla fine del secolo, dipendeva dall'arcipretura di Cernès e pagava le decime al Collège Saint-André di Bordeaux.
Nel XV secolo, nessun testo antico o libro contabile ne fa menzione. Tuttavia, negli archivi della diocesi di Bordeaux, una "cappella di Lerre" è menzionata a Landiras. E' Brax?
Dall'inizio del XVII secolo fino al 1763, fu sotto il controllo del priorato di Bardenac e della Compagnia di Gesù, che intraprese opere di trasformazione. Durante la Rivoluzione francese, fu acquistato da Joachim de Chalup che lo trasformò in una fattoria, per poi abbandonarlo definitivamente.
