Kingston upon Thames ist eine Stadt und ein Stadtbezirk, der jetzt innerhalb von Greater London, England, liegt und früher im County Surrey war. Sie befindet sich am Fluss Thames, etwa 10 Meter über dem Meeresspiegel und 10 Meilen südwestlich von Charing Cross. Sie ist bemerkenswert als die alte Marktstadt, in der sächsische Könige gekrönt wurden, und heute das Verwaltungszentrum des Royal Borough of Kingston upon Thames ist.
Die große historische Gemeinde Kingston wurde in der modernen Zeit in den Municipal Borough of Kingston-upon-Thames eingegliedert, der 1835 reformiert wurde und seit 1893 der Standort des Surrey County Hall ist, exterritorial in Bezug auf die lokale Regierungsadministration. Seit 1965 ist Kingston ein Teil von Greater London.
