Kingston upon Thames es una ciudad y un borough que ahora forma parte de Gran Londres, Inglaterra, anteriormente dentro del condado de Surrey. Está situada a orillas del río Tamesis, a unos 33 pies sobre el nivel del mar y a 10 millas al suroeste de Charing Cross. Es notable como la antigua ciudad mercado donde fueron coronados los reyes sajones y hoy es el centro administrativo del Borough Real de Kingston upon Thames.
La gran parroquia histórica de Kingston se absorbió en tiempos modernos en el Borough Municipal de Kingston-upon-Thames, reformado en 1835 y desde 1893 ha sido la ubicación del Ayuntamiento del Condado de Surrey, extraterritorialmente en términos de administración local. Desde 1965, Kingston ha sido parte de Gran Londres.
