Scarborough ist eine Mittelstadt in der englischen Grafschaft North Yorkshire und Verwaltungssitz des Borough of Scarborough. Sie befindet sich im Osten der Grafschaft an der Nordseeküste und ist ein bedeutender Ferienort. 2001 hatte Scarborough 50.135 Einwohner.
Die moderne Stadt befindet sich 30 bis 70 Meter über dem Meeresspiegel. Der historische Stadtkern liegt in einer Bucht am Hafen. Es gibt eine nördliche und eine südliche Bucht. Die südliche, die South Bay, beinhaltet den Hafen. Dahinter erstreckt sich die Fußgängerzone. Auf einem Hügel an der Küste, dem Headland, steht eine alte Burgruine, das Scarborough Castle.
