Er ist mit 10.257 bunten Streifen dekoriert, die die vier Nukleotide des BRCA2-Gens repräsentieren. BRCA2 (Brustkrebs Typ 2 Anfälligkeit Protein) wurde 1995 am Sanger Institute von Prof. Michael Stratton und Dr. Richard Wooster entdeckt. Der Pfad verläuft entlang einer Eisenbahnstrecke zwei Meilen durch die flache Landschaft von Südkambridge und ist seit seiner Eröffnung durch den Nobelpreisträger Sir John Sulston eine beliebte Pendlerroute geworden.
