Der Alte Athena-Tempel war bis zur Zerstörung durch die Perser im Jahr 480 v. Chr. der Kultbau für Athena Polias, die Stadtgöttin Athens auf der Akropolis. An zentraler Stelle auf der Akropolis gelegen, erhob er sich auf den Resten einer mykenischen Palastanlage. Neben den Fundamenten wurden zahlreiche Bauglieder dorischer Ordnung gefunden, die mit dem Tempel und seinen verschiedenen Bauphasen in Verbindung gebracht werden.
