Die Insel Cres [tsrɛs] ist zusammen mit der exakt gleich großen Insel Krk die größte Insel der Adria. Sie liegt im nördlichen Teil der Kvarner-Bucht vor der Halbinsel Istrien und gehört zur Gespanschaft Primorje-Gorski kotar in Kroatien.Cres ist eine gebirgige Insel, 66 km lang und 2 bis 12 km breit. Die Länge der Küste beträgt rund 248 km.
