Das Valle Maira ist ein etwa 60 km langes, von West nach Ost verlaufendes Tal in der italienischen Provinz Cuneo, die in der Region Piemont liegt. Das Mairatal ist zugleich Teil der Cottischen Alpen und liegt an der Grenze zu Frankreich. Das seit mindestens 4000 Jahren besiedelte Tal ist eine der am stärksten von Landflucht und Abwanderung betroffenen Regionen des Alpenraums und ganz Italiens.
