Der Langkofel ist der Hauptgipfel der Langkofelgruppe in den Grödner Dolomiten und ein bekannter Kletterberg. Sein Name bedeutet Langer Stein/Fels.
Der Langkofel erstreckt sich über einen Kilometer in NW-SO-Richtung und macht, zusammen mit seinem „Langkofeleck“ genannten Südostgipfel flächenmäßig in etwa die Hälfte der Langkofelgruppe aus. Der Normalweg führt durch die Südwestwand auf den Gipfelverbindungsgrat und auf diesem zum Gipfel und ist äußerst lang. Die Erstbesteigung erfolgte am 13. August 1869 durch Paul Grohmann . Auf dem Langkofel befindet sich eine Biwakschachtel als Notunterkunft, welche nach dem italienischen Dominikanerpater Reginaldo Giuliani benannt wurde.
