Am Fuß des Hangs der Corso Mazzini befindet sich die Basilica di Santa Chiara. Hier liegt Clara, die Gefährtin von Franziskus, begraben. Clara gründete zudem den Orden der Klarissen. In der Basilika, genauer gesagt in einer der Kapellen, kannst du das berühmte Kruzifix bewundern. Dieses soll sich angeblich geneigt haben, um Franziskus zu sagen, dass er die Kirche Gottes wieder herstellen müsse.
