Das stillgelegte Kernkraftwerk Ignalina am See Drūkšiai nahe der Stadt Visaginas liegt in Litauen, nur wenige Kilometer vom Dreiländereck zu Lettland und Belarus und etwa 45 Kilometer von der namensgebenden Kreisstadt Ignalina entfernt. Das einzige litauische Kernkraftwerk war von Ende 1983 – als Litauen noch Teil der Sowjetunion war – bis zum 31. Dezember 2009 in Betrieb . Im Jahr 2000 zählte man 5103 Mitarbeiter.
