Wo die Route eine leichte Kurve macht, taucht ganz in der Nähe das plumpen Erscheinungsbild des IJsselwerks, auch als Centrale Harculo bekannt, auf. Früher stand das Werk in der Stadt, wurde aber nach dem Zweiten Weltkrieg hierher verlegt. Das IJsselwerk versorgt Zwolle und die Umgebung seit 1914 mit Strom. Ursprünglich hatte das Werk fünf Schornsteine. Im Jahr 2005 wurde das Werk renoviert, damit es vorerst weiter betrieben werden kann.
