Oirschot) ist die Hauptstadt der gleichnamigen Gemeinde Oirschot in der niederländischen Provinz Nordbrabant. Oirschot liegt in der Region Kempen. Der Name Oirschot könnte von "schoot" stammen, was höher gelegenes Land in sumpfigem Gebiet bedeutet, und "oir", was möglicherweise auf "oeros" oder "eisenhaltigen Boden" zurückzuführen ist. Es könnte aber auch sein, dass "oir" wie "aar" auf Wasser hinweist. In diesem Fall handelt es sich also um einen hohen Ort in oder an einer nassen Senke, was auch heute noch der Fall ist, jedoch weniger deutlich als in der Vergangenheit. Oirschot hat damit dieselbe Bedeutung wie Aarschot in Flämisch-Brabant.
