Heelsum ist ein Dorf in der Gemeinde Renkum in der niederländischen Provinz Gelderland. Es zählt über 3.540 Einwohner. Das Dorf ist sowohl nach Oosterbeek als auch nach Renkum ausgerichtet. Der Name Hellessem taucht bereits im 11. Jahrhundert auf. Der Name lässt sich am besten als „Besiedlung bei dem Höhenunterschied“ erklären. Die ersten gefundenen Spuren von Besiedlung stammen jedoch aus dem 14. Jahrhundert. Nicht weit von der Kirche wurde ein Grab aus dem 6. oder 7. Jahrhundert gefunden.
